@thenamelesswonderer:thesilentlink.orgTheNamelessWondererI assume this doesn't federate yet?20:09:30
@deepbluev7:neko.devNico (Nico/Nico)No, I don't think it does :D20:09:41
@val:e2e.zoneval"Uses a flat-file directory structure to store data instead of a database."20:10:21
@val:e2e.zonevalthis is totally not going to be painfully inefficient20:10:29
@thenamelesswonderer:thesilentlink.orgTheNamelessWonderererr what? They don't don't use git for pull requests but a matrix room instead??? How does this even work?20:10:40

@val:e2e.zonevaloh gosh they use CVS20:11:09

just send a patch into a matrix room?
but then how do you know who did what? Comments? Code suggestions etc. They will all quickly get lost in a matrix room. I suppose threads could help but it's not ideal
20:12:16
* @deepbluev7:neko.devNico (Nico/Nico) doesn't see the difference from using email20:13:00
@thenamelesswonderer:thesilentlink.orgTheNamelessWondererand matrix searching is not very great either especially if you don't have the full room history as is the case with servers who haven't participated very long in the room20:13:19
@deepbluev7:neko.devNico (Nico/Nico)Well, that is not an issue for new contributions!20:13:39
@val:e2e.zoneval thenamelesswonderer: Git is literally designed to send patches over emails 20:13:44
@val:e2e.zoneval thenamelesswonderer: just send patches on Matrix instead of emails, it works the same 20:13:56
@val:e2e.zonevalprobably no inline comments/replies though20:14:25

20:14:39
@val:e2e.zonevalso you'd embed the patch content in a message?20:15:00
@val:e2e.zonevalthat's going to be unreadable on any client20:15:08
@thenamelesswonderer:thesilentlink.orgTheNamelessWondererwell it has to be an attachment right?20:15:17
@thenamelesswonderer:thesilentlink.orgTheNamelessWonderermake a new thread then attach in the thread?20:15:34
@midou:projectsegfau.ltmidou
In reply to @deepbluev7:neko.dev
Why? :3
because it's integrated to git itself

Boring!
20:16:30
@val:e2e.zoneval thenamelesswonderer: but then you can't make inline comments 21:02:11
@thenamelesswonderer:thesilentlink.orgTheNamelessWondererwhats an inline comment?22:02:34
